The Founder
Cheri Pestes is president and founder of Yvonne’s Kitchen, LTD. She discovered
the need for dairy-free mixes seven years ago as the mother of a dairy-allergic
daughter. She has since been diagnosed as allergic to dairy herself. Not being
one to give up easily, she experimented repeatedly to come up with good tasting
recipes that were egg and dairy free.
Since always cooking from scratch took A LOT of time, she eventually began
packaging bags for herself of all the dry ingredients for different recipes.
After realizing how convenient it was to use a mix – and how difficult it was
to find dairy-free mixes, Mrs. Pestes decided to investigate the possibility of
marketing it. All her trial and error has produced proven, family-pleasing
recipes that are even enjoyed by people with no allergies!
Mrs. Pestes previous experience includes eight years in the food service
industry, and previous small business ownership. Her education includes
graduating cum laude from Walla Walla College with a B.S. in Elementary
Education and a minor in Chemistry. She is excited about helping others by
providing egg and dairy-free solutions that weren’t available when she ran
into the dilemma several years ago of how to feed her family without dairy! She
